I am a small-time seller, selling refurbished laptops with special programs on them for designing. As of now i have it set as i don't accept returns unless it not as described. I spend a lot of time putting out a great running laptop, and every review i have is perfect. I was asked for the first time today about not having a return policy by someone interested in a laptop. That could be preventing me from selling more. But there are many people who buy a laptop and see one that they might like better and if it is before i ship it , i have no problem giving money back i have done it a few times, but i do have a problem when someone already has the laptop and wants their money back because they changed their mind. I make hardly any profit as it is, and if people start doing this i will be losing money. Specially with a laptop. Many people don't know how to use a laptop properly. They lay them on a bed, or a pillow on their lap and it blocks the vents that cool down the laptop, that is why so many laptops burn out. If i do change this to accepting returns, people might be more careless and say well i have 30 days to return it so they might not care. What does it matter not accepting returns, ebay makes you do it anyway, so why would the buyer be concerned unless he is thinking i will return it if i don't like it. Maybe someone has a designing job and just needs it to design a project, then he says i dont need it anymore, and want to return it, not fair to me after putting so much time to put out a good product to have that happen. I have had people ask to build them a laptop, with certain programs, and hardware, and listed them, then was told they changed their mind. I had to take a loss on the laptop. So my trust isnt to high. I would like some suggestions on this issue from the community, thanks
