Return shipping label

Hi, I do not accept returns, but a buyer says a ring is defective. I don't believe it is, but am happy to take it back. The refund has already been issued. But I don't know how to send a return shipping label. The automated help says to go to View Returns, but I don't see that anywhere.  Can someone please give me step by step directions? I am new to this and have no idea.  This is stressing me out.  Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Re: Return shipping label

Your refund closed the return, and the buyer may have been told that they do not need to return it.

Message the buyer and make sure they can still return it.  Then go to paypal and create a label.  Print it to a jpeg file, and send it to the buyer in an eBay message.

Re: Return shipping label

I have a Paypal account, but I don't use it as an eBay seller. The buyer has messaged me asking for a return label. I just don't know how to do it.

Re: Return shipping label

Go to paypal - you'll have to sign up for their shipstation label printing.  Or open a free account at pirateship.com.  Both will have the same rates as eBay. Pirateship is very user friendly.  I haven't tried paypal's shipstation.

Enter the buyer's address as the ship from, your address as the ship to. Enter the weight and dimensions, then select a service.  When you click print, both should ask you to identify your printer, in that same window you should be able to change it to a pdf or a jpeg file.

You can send a jpeg through an eBay message.  If you can only get a pdf, ask the buyer for their email address - it is ok since you have a transaction together.  Then you can send them the pdf file directly.

Re: Return shipping label

Note that PirateShip has pay-on-use return labels available, so you don't have to worry about the ship date or getting charged if the buyer doesn't use it.

PayPal ShipStation (AKA Stamps.com) has very limited options through PayPal, is slow to load and a bit of a pain to use with an extra login, extra clicks, and help popups you have to manually close to navigate to actually printing a label.  It also only supports 4"x6" labels.  Hopefully, they will be improving this soon.
