Responsible for bid after being outbid?

If you are outbid on an item, and then that bid(s) is/are cancelled or retracted such that you become the high bidder again, may you disavow your bid and not complete the purchase, or do you remain responsible for your highest bid in that situation-?

No, you cannot "disavow" your bid if the high bidder retracts their bid or has their bid cancelled. Your bid is considered live and valid until the auction ends. You are still responsible for paying for the item if you become the winning bidder, regardless of how you became the winning bidder.
