Remove active content messages/emails?

I'm only an occasional seller, but EVERY TIME I list something, I get a "Remove your active content" message (immediate) or email (a day or so later).

THERE IS NO ACTIVE CONTENT - just text! I go through the steps to "remove" it, and it looks EXACTLY like it did before, but the notifications stop so the eBay system seems happy afterwards.

What's going on?

Re: Remove active content messages/emails?

It looks like you are using LastPass. When creating or editing an eBay listing, turn that feature off. There is a longstanding issue with LastPass erroneously adding scripts to eBay's description box.

Your oil warmer listing still contains LastPass code, so eBay will flag it again. When you go through the steps to remove it, be sure LastPass is turned off, or else it will come right back when you save the listing.

Re: Remove active content messages/emails?

Ok, this is very good to know - BUT - why can't I see this? How can I see it? Why is lastpass inserting invisible "whatever" into my text box?

In the past, simply allowing the "remove it for me" process to run would make the warnings stop...

Re: Remove active content messages/emails?

The "remove it for me" does work, but then Last Pass adds the code after eBay has finished testing and correcting your description (particularly if you preview before saving). I suspect that if the fixit tool is the last thing you do (perhaps in HTML view), and then go straight to posting the listing, there would be some chance the script won't return.

Why is it happening? I don't know. Last Pass is trying to save something (a password, I guess) and for some reason writes a script to an available text box. This problem has been ongoing for years. It seemed fixed when sellers updated their older LastPass tools to a new 2016 version, but then it started coming back when yet a newer version of LastPass came out a couple of years later. This is not affecting just eBay descriptions. A search of the Internet shows complaints coming from many other sectors, where LastPass has added code to a description box.

Thanx for your help! I still don't know why I can't see this in the text box though...

Re: Remove active content messages/emails?

FWIW, the problem seems to be gone with the "brand new" eBay listing tool. At least, I haven't gotten a complaint about it since I switch to the new tool.
