RETURN SHIPPING SCAM (either eBay is scamming me or the buyer)

Hello community,

Is anyone else getting scammed by either ebay or buyers when it comes to returns after selling an item?

I have been a  seller and buyer on ebay for over 18 years.  I always offer free 30 day returns for my items.  Recently I accepted a return.  So i sent a eBay return label to the buyer.  Tracking shows the item was delivered to a different address in the same city and state. I requested a proof of delivery from the carrier to prove the item was never delivered to my confirmed return address on file with eBay.  On the proof of delivery documentation, it shows a completely different name and address for me as the recipient and a different name and address for the original buyer!   I was denied the appeal even tho I had proof the tracking number eBay is using shows it was never delivered to(but b/c it shows the city and state they don't give a **bleep** about where exactly it went) THIS IS THE SECOND TIME TO HAPPEN TO ME.  how can the tracking number have different names and address from the one I purchased on ebay?   has anyone else experience this?  eBay where is my seller protection!!!!!!! sellers beware

It works like this…

The buyer prints the label you send, then prints different addresses on a separate piece of paper. Next, they cut those addresses out and tape or glue the new addresses in place, then make a photocopy. Presto! A new label with altered addresses (a growing return scam on here).

At least that’s the “manual” way. It can also be done easily using PhotoShop.

The only thing they don’t change is the tracking number.

Sorry this happened to you.
