I received a $400+ electric motor which failed within two weeks of being installed. I immediately notified the seller. I was willing to work with them about the problem. Check this and check that, which I did since I have experience with electric motors. I sense that they don't --- though they did suggest I check the capacitors. I did and found them to be damaged from heat. The motor I believe to have burnt windings. Tough I asked I was not given permission to open the motor to check that out. I've had the experience of trying to identify a problem on an item in the past by disassembly and getting blamed for causing the issue so I won't do so without permission. The smell of burnt windings though is evident if one checks around the entry area for the wiring. So I am having problems with the seller accepting responsibly for the faulty product. My question is: how and who do I contact within Ebay to report my problem? Ebay lists a variety of issues, but nothing related to a seller who won't work toward addressing a faulty product. Can someone give me some direction in getting an Ebay rep involved? Never in 15 years with Ebay have I had a problem like this.
