Product rating now part of feedback

Why is rating a product now part of the feedback process?  It is pretty useless metric to begin with, and it will only slow down posting of feedback if I haven't read the book/used the product/built the model or whatever.  And if the product is poor, isn't that a reason to return it?  As it is now, I just bin any orders that require a product rating as part of the seller feedback.

I'm sorry, but I haven't seen any explanation for eBay now requiring a review of the item before we can leave feedback.  I'm as confused as you are by this inexplicable change.

I totally agree. In my long tenure on Ebay, feedback left was specifically in regards to the transaction, not the item itself.

Not sure why the change.😒
