Possible fraud

Hi everyone, do eBay use this email address, pay.checkout.portal@gmail.com, to send payment confirmations? I sold my camera on eBay and received the eBay payment confirmation from this email address. However, the payment was not confirmed on my app. The buyer asked for my email address and said I should have already been notified by eBay. He asked me to directly post it and upload the tracking number. I have already shipped the camera and it was delivered. I still did not receive my payment and can't contact to the buyer. It seems that the phone number is fake and it was a scam.

Re: Possible fraud

Unfortunately that is not an eBay address, and it appears you have been defrauded.

One reason why you should never share your email address with a buyer prior to receiving payment through eBay is that a scammer can then send a phony payment notice email to make it appear you have been paid when you have not.

Never ship until your eBay account indicates an actual payment has been received.

Re: Possible fraud

Always go to your Seller Hub > Orders > Awaiting shipment

to confirm you have been paid.  Only send to the address on the shipping label when you print it out to keep your seller protection.  If the buyer sends a message asking to ship to a different address, come back here and we can explain what you need to do.
