I paid for an item that was large, I am picking it up today. How do II Get a code to give to the seller so he can be paid from my PayPal account

If purchased with local pickup, there should be a QR code and a 6 digit code in your payment confirmation email. (Not in an eBay message.)

Your seller is not paid by PayPal - PayPal pays eBay, ebay pays the seller. eBay may hold the seller’s payment if the seller is new, or the item is pricey.
