Package lost

We are sellers and customer hasn’t received her package. It shows shipped on eBay but no tracking number was created at post office. Will ebay reimburse the buyer?

@sablemonet   No.  The seller is responsible for the item arriving safely and on time to the buyer. 

The seller has to ship with tracking and insurance if they wish to be protected.   Priority comes with $100 insurance.  

The buyer is covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee.   This means YOU have to refund the buyer.  If you don't refund the buyer when they file a refund request and they ask eBay to step in then eBay will force a refund from your account.  You will get a defect and you will not get your sellers fees back.

No, you must refund the buyer.  How did you ship it and not get a tracking#?

Hi @sablemonet 

 

eBay will reimburse the buyer ... with your money ... only if you refuse to do it first.  There is no way a seller can win an 'item not received' dispute without being able to provide a tracking number for a shipped item.  🙁

eBay said it was shipped successfully by usps. Don’t know why a tracking number wasn’t created. Thought eBay has a money back guarantee

They do have a MBG, that's why you'll have to refund the buyer.

If you created the label through eBay, there must be a tracking #.  You can not create a label through eBay that does not have tracking.  Go to your label history to check - https://www.ebay.com/ship/lmng/labels-history/seller-hub

 

The money back guarantee is for the buyer - it guarantees that you will deliver as advertised, or refund the buyer when you don't.
