Is anyone here happy with the way ebay opens new tabs every time you click on something? Even to get to this page it opened a new tab. I HATE this!!! Looking for something on the site I end up with 15 open tabs that I now have to make sure I close after finding what I'm looking for. This is the most inefficient process of any shopping site out there. Did I mention I HATE this? I have a hard time believing this is a safe way to shop...especially if on a shared computer like the one at work as an example. It's enough to make me stop shopping on ebay and go to just amazon if they don't switch it back to the way it was. ebay's customer support said it's easier to compare items this way but if you have 15 tabs it AIN'T easier to keep track. What was easy was the compare button and you could see 15 items to compare on ONE page. The new tab thing is just plain stupid. Did I mention I HATE this?
What do you think?

You can disable that feature so that search results links open in the same browser tab.
From your search results, use the "Customize" menu in the upper right where you can choose between List or Gallery View:
That should give you the following menu:
Under "Open item page in" select "Same tab".

Thank you, eburtonlab!!! I appreciate the assistance.
Someone should let customer service know that that feature can be changed.
Would've been nice for them to tell me instead of getting frustrated for the past few months.
The girl I talked to said it was a "change in the site" and couldn't be altered.
Have a great day!

You are very welcome.
I believe eBay changed the default tab behavior, and only later added the option in the customize menu without really telling anyone about it, so if you called before the option was available, the rep would have been correct at that point in time.
I only found out about that setting by reading the community pages when it was pointed out by another user. Reading the community discussion boards can be a better resource for up to date troubleshooting tips than speaking to customer service reps on the phone.
We want your journey here to be as great as can be, so we have put together some links to help you get quickly familiarized with the eBay Community.
