Mentor Program Question

Hello, How do I connect with a mentor? I need to do something to increase visibility. I've gotten a lot of input from eBay reps., but still sales are sluggish since the pandemic. Thanks!

Re: Mentor Program Question

@bellacleojewelry  You are talking to a Mentor right now.  We answer questions on this board that is locked to non Mentors.

We don't do a lot of one on one "Mentoring"

Here are some suggestions of what I do when sales are slow >>

Check the sold listings for similar items and see what titles and descriptions worked best to make a sale.

Make sure your price is competitive.

There is a LOT of competition in Jewelry.   Are you using Promoted Listings Standard?  I promote most of my items at for just 2%, but I am not in a hurry to sell so I don't go higher.

Make offers to buyers.

If listings are older than 90 days end the listings and relist using Sell Similar.  This makes an exact copy of the listing and gets it bump in best match search results as a new listing.  ( be sure to delete the original copy from the unsold section)

EDIT TO ADD>  I see you are shipping with the eBay International Shipping Program which is a great way to sell to buyers around the world.  Since there's no risk to you once the item leaves the US there's no reason to block countries.

You can change your exclusions in account settings and have it apply to all listings unless you are using Business Policies.  If using Business Policies then you update the policy.

Chance excluded locations here>

Let me know if you have any questions about my suggestions.

Re: Mentor Program Question

Thanks, and I already used and learned a lot of those tips from eBay reps. over the phone, as well as on my own, but thanks, they are solid tips. I think pricing is the hardest issue because I make items one at a time, which is not the most efficient way to maximize production. I would know, I used to work in jewelry manufacturing. Anyway, I realize it's a very saturated market. I used to run into a collector on eBay or FB and sell a lot of items, but that hasn't happened for awhile. I've been selling some items at a loss just to get some sales moving, so at this point I've done all I can short of paying for promoted listings. By the time I give eBay 15% fvf, I can't put more on that and make anything for my time. Thanks for your time responding, what I need is less competition on the pages, hahaha... Ellen

I hear ya!   The comics category is pretty saturated too.

I find my items sell a bit better if I list the price a little higher than I want and then send out offers.   Send offers as SOON as eBay says you can send offers on your seller hub page.  Strike while the iron is hot>  https://www.ebay.com/sh/ovw

@bellacleojewelry  I see you "struck fast" on the offers.  I just received one.  LOL.

Re: Mentor Program Question

I hear ya...some of my items I put out low just to move them out, no one likes selling more than I do hahaha...I can't stand all this stuff sitting around..  except my parrot horning in on the videos.  Funny you mention that, I just now sent out 2 offers, one of which was a brand new listing of a piece I just finished listing today. I gave a 12% discount, hoping for a sale. The other on a piece I spent untold hours of hand labor on... We both have great sales records. 🙂 thank you, again!
