Hello,
I shipped a book to a customer by Media Mail. The book was flagged and opened. My customer claims the postal carrier charged the recipient ('spouse of buyer') extra postage since it was changed to Priority.
I shipped a book. No ads. A hardcover book as I've done for years. The buyer sent some pictures of the package and it looks legit; red marker, and a stamp on the shipping label. Written in red marker is the missing postage amount, $11 and change.
I refunded the buyer to be done with it.
Now I'm wondering if I'll get a negative mark on my ship from address. I want to fight this to get my money back and hopefully get this down the chain so whichever branch made this error can train their workers to follow the Media Mail description listed on the USPS website.
Any ideas of where to start? This happen to anyone else? I don't have a receipt from the buyer's extra postage payment- only my initial USPS check-in receipt, pictures and tracking. I plan to go to my local branch, possibly file a claim.
Thanks
