I have had 3 high dollar sports cards that were sent to the ebay Authenticity gaurantee program and they all have had different responses but basically saying the items couldn't be authenticated. Twice they said the cards were customised or had after market items added to them. They still send the cards to me. I tried thoroughly reading the policy. It is very confusing on if they authenticate these memoribilia cards or not? Can someone give me the straight answer to that? If they do, then what is going on with them sending the non-authenticated "customized" cards to me and not back to the seller??

eBay states that they can't authenticate the "relics" or "customization" of a card, but they can authenticate the underlying card. So you are getting an authenticated card, but the add-ons are not authenticated.

"Cards with relics, patches, aftermarket signatures or autographs that were placed on the card in person can be authenticated, but the authenticity of the embedded relic, autograph, patch, etc., cannot be guaranteed."

Ok, thanks for that clarification. I searched high and low and did not find that descirption, so thank you for providing that! The non-authenticated emails had me worried someone had some kind of metal "One of One" embosser and was putting fake serial numbers on my cards.
I will just assume in the future that the card is 100% manufacturered by the card company and not that someone added a cooler looking patch to try and increase sell value! Or a fake 1/1 stamp!
Again, Thank you.
