I had sold a watch which I purchased myself from the official watch dealer. The watch was in it's original packaging with all of it's papers including a certificate of authenticity stamped from the store location with the purchase date which matched my receipt. I sent the watch to the authenticator and they claimed the watch was fake and a replica of the real watch and that it would be returned to me.
The authenticator shipped the watch to a different address on my account which was updated by the customer service agent for me. I told them as soon as I was given the tracking information that it was sent to the wrong address and spent over 2+ hours in the support queue trying to fix it. The item was delivered to the wrong address anyway.
Being an expensive item, I had the item picked up and personally flown back to me in the shipping box. When I received the item back, I opened the packaging and found that the watch had been chipped on the back of the dial, the original packaging had been dented, bent, and torn. Also the certificate of authenticity was no longer in the box. I have reached out to support numerous times and have gotten no reply. What should I do to resolve this issue?
I have been told that I cannot resell the watch on ebay. The original manufacturer won't take it back with the damage and without the certificate of authenticity. I also have a lot of costs sunk into this including the shipping materials I didn't get back, the flight I had to have to get the item returned to me in a timely manner, as well as the damaged item itself.
