Is an offer the same as a bid?

I had made an offer, it was declined. I made another offer and while waiting I found and bought the item on another site. Now I can't cancel this order, even though it was an offer, not a bid

An offer is not the same as bidding on an item.  When you make an offer, if the seller accepts the offer, then it becomes a sale and you have committed to buying it.

An offer and a bid are different, but BOTH are binding, with very very limited reasons to cancel.  Getting impatient and buying something else is very definitely NOT a valid reason.  Honor your commitment.
