Shipped insured so a signature is required. Buyer has not picked up from post office. Have contacted buyer to let him know that his item is at the post office and the postman also left a note on his door. I need ebay to contact the buyer but I can't get anyone at ebay. All these ebay fees and you can't get in touch with anyone.

@bye_felicia You can call the buyer yourself. Go to the orders page here: https://www.ebay.com/sh/ord/?filter=status:PAID_SHIPPED
Select View order details from next to the item. Then on the right under the buyers user ID select show contact info.
Sometimes a phone call works better. I would call and if they don't respond to that then I'd text them.
eBay is not going to call the buyer for you.
Eventually if they don't pick up then the item will be returned to you. At that time you can give the buyer two options... refund them for the item price only minus shipping and insurance fees.
OR ask them to pay to ship the item again. They will have to send the money for shipping to you outside of eBay using an electronic payment method.
If you do ship again then I recommend buying the shipping label on Pirateship.com. They have the same discounted rates as eBay. This way the item will not have two tracking numbers to confuse the system.

I'm worried that the buyer is going to let it be returned bc he initially tried to back out after buying (before paying) bc he found the same thing cheaper elsewhere, then said he'd honor it and paid up. It's a high dollar item ($1300) so I shipped insured. I can't be messing with this too long bc i need the money and once I pay off what I need to pay off with that money, I can't have ebay dipping into my bank account to give this dude a refund bc he wants this to be his way out of the transaction.

@bye_felicia eBay policy is that you really don't have to refund the buyer if the item comes back to you. However it is the right thing to do, I know that is not easy with such a large sale. The buyer may file a charge back with their credit card though if the item comes back to you and you don't refund.
In the future if a buyer wants to back out of a sale it's best to agree to avoid problems like this.
Be sure to add this buyer to your blocked bidder list.

Sorry you are dealing with this on such a high priced item.
Just an FYI the soonest funds would be released after the buyer signs for delivery is 30 days since the sale is over $1 k

He wanted to back out, then before I could even respond to him on that, he had come back and said he'd take it. Funds have already been transfered to my bank.

@bye_felicia Really surprised on a sale that was that high priced that you got the funds already.
All I can say is don't spend them just yet. 😞
