Hi, I made a mistake and sent out the wrong item to a buyer. They opened up a refund request but really just want the correct item. I don't necessarily want them to send the incorrect item back. The shipping wouldn't be worth it. How do I initiate this type of process. The only option I see is for me to refund their purchase which won't get them the item they initially ordered.

What you can do is go to Orders > Paid & shipped
Click the down-arrow, click Print Another Label and complete the process. Send your buyer a message that the correct item is on the way, and you would appreciate it if s/he would go to to Returns Request and close it. Let the buyer know s/he can do whatever s/he wants with the incorrect item.

Thanks for your reply to my question. Your response is very clear and easy to follow! After chatting with ebay help; I ended up giving them a small partial refund which they accepted (for their trouble plus it closed out the request), told them to keep the incorrect item and am sending out the correct item. I sort of jumped the gun on doing all of this but I didn't want to sit on the issue and make the buyer wonder if I was going to address it. I will definitely do what you suggested next time. Thanks again!
