I have an item that has not arrived yet, however there's no option under more actions to report it.

I have an item that I ordered on 07/12/23 that was to arrive on 07/19/23 and it hasn't even shipped let alone arrived.

 

I attempt to cancel this order on 07/14/23 and was instructed it was to late to do so and I would need to contact the seller. I sent the seller a message requesting to cancel the order on 07/14/23.

 

As of 07/18/23 I still had not yet heard back from the seller and sent the seller another message requesting the status of the order.

 

On 07/19/23 the order still had not shipped and I still had not heard from the seller and I sent the seller another message requesting whether the order had been canceled and when I could expect my refund.

 

It's now 07/20/23 the item has not shipped, and I still have not heard anything from the seller. 

 

I attempted to report the item as not received on the order details page and there is no option under more actions to report the item not received. The only options are leave feedback, buy similar, and sell one like this.

I just noticed after posting this message it appears eBay is using the Pacific Time Zone as the date time stamp on this posting was approximately 10:0O PM on 07/19/23 and I am on the Eastern Time Zone and it is approximately 01:00 AM on 07/20/23 here. I have to wonder if the more action button doesn't display the actions I require due to the time difference.

 

Anyway since I have already created this message what are my options at this point if I still find I don't have those options later as the seller is not responding and there does not appear to be anyway to report this item as not being received? Does eBay have a phone number that I can call for customer support?

There is no need to contact Ebay Customer Service.

 

IF/WHEN the latest estimated date of delivery has already passed by at least 24 hours Pacific Time, you have up to 30 days past estimated date of delivery to file a Refund Request:

Go to your My Ebay page >> Purchase history

  •     Select “More actions” beside your item and then “I didn't receive it.”
  •     Click the box beside I want a refund.
  •     Select Send request.

If the seller does not respond after 3 days, you can ask Ebay to step in to help you.

  •     Find the item in your Purchase History
  •     Select See request details
  •     Select “Ask eBay to step in.”

The item in question should have arrived between 07/15/23 and 07/19/23 and it's now 07/20/23 so it should be within the correct window I would think to report this item as not being delivered. In fact according to the items status it hasn't even shipped yet.

 

According to your instructions I should take the following steps.

 

Go to your My Ebay page >> Purchase history

  •     Select “More actions” beside your item and then “I didn't receive it.”
  •     Click the box beside I want a refund.
  •     Select Send request.

 

The problem is when I follow those steps the option "I didn't receive it" under "More actions" doesn't even exist. The only options that exist under "More actions" are: View similar items, Contact Seller which I have done three times already and not received any response, Ask to cancel order, Sell this item, Add note, and Hide order.

 

Is there any other way to contact eBay and report this item as not being received and requesting a refund, preferably by phone?

Hi @md4112 

 

Contacting eBay by phone will not help the process.  You would be better served by repeatedly refreshing the screen until you see the link to report that the item hasn’t arrived … which should magically appear sometime today.

 

Until you can see and use the ‘Item hasn’t arrived’ link … or something to that effect … there is nothing fruitful anyone can do.  

I’m sorry.  I know you’re frustrated.  😖

As long this is normal and the link appears that will work. The issue is the link is not there so at this point it doesn't appear as I have any recourse. The problem is the link doesn't exist which seems odd in the first place especially considering the time period has expired when it should have been delivered. I could report it to my credit card instead, however my preference was to try and work through eBay first for various reasons.

 

Thanks, I'll give it a bit more time and see if that option actually appears later.

Although I appreciate all of the replies I received, unfortunately they did not reflect the options available to me. By going to purchase history and choosing More Actions the option "I didn't receive it" simply never appeared.

 

I did however find by going to Help and Contact at the top I was able to chose an option of not receiving the item later in the day on the 20th. Even that was not there earlier but later in the day it was and I choose that. Basically that allowed me to send a message to the seller and while doing that the application told me that I will have to wait until the 26th before I can contact  eBay and get any assistance. Here's hoping by the 26th I can contact eBay because as of yet I still have not heard anything from the seller. The item still has not shipped and this is the fourth time I have attempted to contact the seller. 

 

At this point I'm attempting to do things in accordance with eBays policy to address this so that this item won't somehow ruin my perfect eBay customer reputation. I don't want the seller to somehow be able to claim I did something wrong if I were to simply contact my credit card and cancel the transaction instead of pursuing the eBay solution. However the eBay solution at this point by everything I have seen doesn't match what I have had to do to report the item not received to this point. The fact that this is the case and I am unable to contact someone from eBay to get better clarification as to why this is the case is extremely frustrating. It's my hope at least on the 26th I will have the option to involve eBay because after 4 attempts to contact  the seller he\she as yet to reply to any of my messages and the item has still not shipped.
