I have 100% positive ratings so not sure what all this is about. Sounds really rude and exclusionary to me.

< "I didn't meet the buyer's standards" ? >
I can't look into your account. My guess would be that you triggered one of the automatic blocks that eBay makes available to sellers. My suggestion, go to https://www.ebay.com/bmgt/buyerrequirements and check the Buyer Requirements, to see if your account might fit one of the criteria listed there. For example, within the last year, have you failed to pay for two purchases?

I've never failed to pay for anything.

Another block is to only allow 1 purchase within a 10 day period. Have you purchased from the seller within 10 days? The seller can change that requirement.

I don't think I've ever bought anything from that seller. But I'm happy to take my business elsewhere.
Turning away good customers with no explanation makes no sense to me. Too bad it's almost impossible to get help from actual Ebay employees!
Thanks for your reply!

I did. If I were selling, I would definitely want to know if people were unable to buy my products!

I never thought you had. I referenced that Buyer Requirement so that you'd see it and know you were in the right area. I only used it as an example, similar to the way @disneyshopper used the 1 purchase in 10 days BR as an example.

Hi @awhi6554
I’ve never seen the wording, ‘Didn’t meet seller’s standards’. Are you paraphrasing … or were those the actual words in the message? [I assumed that ‘buyer’s standards’ was a typo.] It would help to know the exact wording in the message you received.
BYW, not all ‘exclusions’ are insulting. Like if a seller uses UPS or FedEx exclusively to ship … they need to block buyers whose address is a USPS PO Box.

Exact words:
"An item you selected was not added to your cart because the seller will not sell to buyers that do not meet their requirements". |

They need to come up with specific wording that explains what the issue actually IS, if any.
In all the years I've used Ebay, this is the first time I've ever received such a message.
Frankly, none of the changes on Ebay that I've seen in the past couple years have been good ones, imo.

Thanks for the info. eBay usually has told buyers the reason for a ‘general’ block … like the PO Box example I mentioned.
When a seller ‘specifically’ blocked a buyer … the message the buyer received was ‘The seller isn’t accepting bids or offers from you at this time’.
I frankly don’t know what to make of the message you received. It certainly isn’t helpful. ☹️

Hi @awhi6554 Sellers CAN see who tried to bid on their items but hit a block. There are all kinds of blocks, some of which have already been explained to you. Others are if you live in a state the seller does not ship to, or have an APO address -- something I am personally opposed to because that's our active military. The link with all the blocks listed was provided to you by @gosimus, and then some of them just use goofy cheap shipping that doesn't deliver to every area in the US. Whatever the issue is, there are few items so rare that only one eBay seller has it. Find a seller who will welcome your business. Good luck!
