How to turn off automatic payments

I can’t find this in the settings panel anywhere. Every time I submit an offer on items with the “make offer” option, and the seller accepts, my default payment method is automatically charged. I need to stop this.

This is a seller setting and buyers cannot change this setting.  Only the seller can turn this off but since it helps reduce non payments I doubt they will do this.
