How to stop automatic payment with paypal?

Paypal automatically pays my auction win.  It's bad because I am bidding on several items from the same vendor and it really messes up combined shipping.  Anyone have any suggestions.  I called PayPal and they unlinked my account from Ebay.  That was useless.

That's a setting the seller has control over, at least the part where you have to have a payment method on file and it is charged automatically.  You can ask sellers if they're willing to disable it, but that's their call.  eBay is making changes around how that works with combined shipping, however.
