Hello,
When creating a listing on eBay I see that freight is one of the options on the shipping pull down menu.
I will be listing a crated machine (340 pounds) for sale on eBay and will be offering free shipping. Problem is I have no idea what eBay will charge for freight shipping. Does anyone know how I can calculate eBay's freight shipping cost?
I would appreciate any tips sellers who ship freight can share.
Thanks, Cory

I've tried this calculator and did not work.

eBay doesn't handle freight shipping - that is something you have to arrange with a local shipper.
So if you want to offer free freight shipping, you would have to contact your preferred carrier and get a few quotes so you can decide how much to include in your price. You can create an average, or include the amount for the farthest destination - each has its advantages and disadvantages.
You might ask for more input on the shipping discussion board.

Ebay does not calculate freight rates nor offer the service. Shipping freight can be expensive and depends on more than just distance, but freight class (type of item), or whether you will need optional services, like a lift gate at either your end or the buyer's. Freight also generally requires it to be on a pallet.
Suggest you contact a local freight forwarder in the yellow pages. You also may consider not doing free shipping, but select freight with the option for buyer to contact you for a quote including any optional services needed.
