How to combine discount codes and making an offer.

I am looking at buying an item, it has a $10 off coupon code to be entered at checkout. The listing has an option to make an offer. It is my understanding that once an offer is accepted, I will be billed, I fail to see how I will be able to take advantage of both. If i make an offer and there is no option at checkout for the coupon code.

You cannot apply the discount/coupon to a purchase made as an offer.
