Go to ebay.com. If your browser is in classic site mode, you should see a link to the mobile site at the bottom of the page in a dark band that says "Switch to mobile site".
If you are already in mobile site mode, you will see a link to the classic site that looks like this:

Not all pages may render properly in mobile or classic; if a page cannot be rendered, the page may change from one to the other mode or you may be redirected elsewhere.

Once you select the desktop site mode, as long as you open all links in the same browser tab, that tab should stay in desktop mode until you undo that selection.
