I have a buyer who purchased a clothing item and immediately requested a return. No issue there, but they called this item defective, when in fact it isn't, but rather it was a personal choice in the style of item purchased. Is this a strike against my account? Do I need to request the wording be changed? Do I just process the refund without further delay. Thank you for your advice in advance.

I would recommend just processing the return. At most, your Seller Service Metrics may take a small hit if they marked it as Item Not As Described, but that's not something you need to worry about unless your percentage of such cases is already high.
