How much time do you have to request a return for counterfeit item?

I purchased a coin in July of this year.  When I received it I had doubts about its authenticity but  I didn't want to make an issue of it unless I was sure it was fake.  I recently purchased another one to compare the previous coin to and it is now clear the previous coin is a fake.  Can I still return the coin for a refund or is it too late?  I did contact the buyer and he did agree to refund me but there is no "return this item"  button for the item anymore and Ebay will not allow exchange of email addresses in order for him to pay me directly through Paypal.

If you used Paypal to pay, you can file a dispute for up to 180 days. Do it soon.

Log in to your PayPal account. Open a dispute in the Resolution Center within 180 calendar days of your purchase, by clicking on “Dispute a Transaction” under “Report a problem”.
