I just purchased an item and once I submitted payment was then informed that I wouldn't receive it for 7/8 weeks. Originally it said 2/3 weeks when I agreed to purchase. I'm concerned that if I don't recieve it I will be out my money if I wait till the now August delivery date. I know there is only so much time to file a claim but what happens when the projected delivery time exceeds that time frame and I wasn't made aware of the extended ship time until after I paid?

@melisslemair-9 See what the original estimated delivery was on your Purchase history, you only have to wait one day after that. The Seller may be trying to string you out past eBays allotted time to process a claim ...

Go to My ebay > Purchase history
You have up to 30 days past the last estimated delivery date to file an Item Not Received case to get your money back if the item never arrives.
ebay displays the estimated delivery date from the seller's zip code to the buyers zip code. When you went to ebay Check out, did you change the SHIP TO address? If so, then that is why the estimated delivery date is extended. It takes longer to travel to the zip code you submitted.

Go to the Order Details in your Purchase History. Make note of the estimated date date of delivery as show in the order details.
When it is 1 day past that date, file a Refund Request:
If the seller does not respond after 3 days, you can ask Ebay to step in to help you.
