How does shipping an item for authorization

Once an item has been through the authentication process how do they no the ship to address of the buyer?

I don't know how it works, but the authenticator is given the SHIP TO address that is supplied by the buyer to ebay.  It must work similar to the ebay International Shipping, where the ebay hub receives the buyer's name and address when they receive the package from the seller.
