One has to reselect all the upper categories manually and sequentially to get into the current category for the search.
Yes, but you really only have to do that once per category.
Start with a keyword search. On the search results page, you should see a category tree on the left side of the page indicating all the categories where your results are found. Click on a category to see results in that category. For subcategories, you may need to click on the overarching category to see all the subcategory options to select the exact subcategory you want.
Then bookmark the search results or save the search to recreate the search later without having to drill down to that category. Use that saved search as a starting point to search for different keywords in the same category.
