How do i close a return

I started a return for  item i ordered because it will not fit my electric range 

I received an email from seller telling me I don’t have to ship item back that they would initiate a refund once i close the refund request..

Is this legitimate??

and how do I close the refund process!

I haven’t taken package to post office yet, I only printed label ..

Do NOT close the Return Request until you have received your refund.

I would go ahead and return the item, and if the seller does not issue a refund after they receive it, you can ask Ebay to step in to help you.
