How do I use money in my account balance to buy an item?

I have money in my account from items I sold years ago.  I want to buy an item but when I the payment options come up, there is not an option to use the money that's in the balance of my account?

What account are you speaking of?

If you have money in your Ebay account from a seller credit, you can request a refund, it cannot be used to pay for a purchase.

If you have money in your Paypal account, you can use that money to pay for a purchase.
