In most cases it is not necessary to delete a post unless it contains information you would rather not be in public -- in that case use the "Report Inappropriate Content" link to request a moderator remove it.
If your post has been answered to your satisfaction, you can mark an answer as a solution. If your post has not been answered, you may want to post a follow up to indicate your question was answered -- if possible explain the answer so that anyone with the same problem that searches and finds your post knows what happened.
