Against my better judgement, I accepted a sale to Great Britain from where I am in the USA. I was worried about the customs form and it was worse than I thought! Spending most of the day working on this, I have found that the ebay robots do not understand the words customs or forms. And the post office has nobody with knowledge on them either. I paid for insurance, and there was nothing filled out by ebay in those places. Do I fill them out by hand? It only shows what the buyer paid towards shipping and not what I put in for insurance. There are other blank areas that I have no clue about! Help!

When I was shipping directly to the international buyer, most of the information is prefilled. I only had to enter the country of manufacturer, the item weight, and the packaged weight. The forms print out on two 8-1/2 x 11 sheets and you cut them apart so you have 4 pieces. One of the copies is for your records. Take 3 of the copies with you along with the package. The clerk will produce a clear pouch/envelope to affix to the package and place those 3 copies into the envelope.
If you plan to sell to international buyers you may want to opt into ebay's International Shipping, where you ship to a hub, and they prepare the customs form and ship to the buyer. If there are any problems, ebay will take care of returns, and you keep the payment.
