Help me find an eBay policy that supports this insanity!

eBay requested proof or merchandise that I sold last month. I told them that I included the original receipts for these items to the eBay buyers who purchased my items. They told me it would take 72 hours to resolve. eBay sends a new email to me everyday requesting the same proof of merchandise restarting the 72 hour clock. I told them I don’t have receipts for toys that I’ve had since I was a kid and receipts for new items were included in my sales. The next morning I received the same email requesting the proof of purchase I told them I don’t have anymore. I stopped responding. I got my daily 8am email from the Back Office team requesting the same info. Everyday I receive the same email but I receive it with a different eBay rep name requesting it. Can anyone point me to a policy that might explain this? Otherwise everyone is telling me I may need to get an attorney. Help please!

21 of the 25 items you have sold were new, so I would focus on finding receipts for those.

What do you plan to use for your tax return?  You should have kept your original receipts and given your buyers copies, if you really thing they need one.  Contact the stores where you made your purchases and ask for duplicate receipts. Most retailers are happy to help.

You could also ask your buyers to send you a copy of the receipt.  Just tell them that you forgot to make a copy for your tax records.

I’m sure there is something in the user agreement that says you will provide documentation when requested.
