Handling a suspicious return

I have a buyer that recieved his item, left a positive feedback and now has initiated a return request well over a week after having the item saying it is broken. IT WASNT BROKEN WHEN HE GOT IT.  Why do I feel like I am going to be the one in trouble with eBay if I don't take this very suspicious return???

A buyer has eBay's Money Back Guarantee.  If he opens a case, you need to respond to the case with a return shipping label if you want the item back.  Once you have received the item back, you have three days to refund the buyer in full.  eBay rules in favor of the buyer with these cases and if you do not resolve the case, eBay will force a refund and you will get a defect.
