EBay’s idea to try and become there own banking/payment system was the dumbest thing they ever did. They will be out of biz in short order with this change. They have been loosing business for the last 5 years or so, and now they will completely bleed out. I hope eBay folks are reading this, and do something about it.
No, I will NOT give eBay my bank account info so they can wire money in/out, just like I will not give Macy’s, Sears, Amazon, or any other retailer or online business my bank account info. And NO, we are NOT stupid, and know we will not get lower fee’s by using eBay for payment services instead of PayPal. In fact, your fee’s are HIGHER!
You can send me 10,000 emails asking to add my banking info to your system, IT IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. I will buy and sell my stuff on all the other platforms which have already decimated eBay, because they charge too high of fee’s and make dumb decisions like thinking we will be happy to give them our banking information. Yea sure, why don’t I just transfer my retirement savings over to you while I’m at it?
Good bye eBay!

Hi @ccarrara
You are certainly free to buy and sell wherever you want ... but BE SURE to remove your current listings before the deadline you were given to sign up for Managed Payments. [You will have no way to receive the buyers' payments if you don't provide a checking account. They will be sent to your state's Treasury Dept. eventually.]
Many eBay sellers have a opened new checking account to use only for selling. That way your main account will stay private. It's easy getting an online account.
ALL of the larger selling platforms have systems identical or similar to eBay's MP ... meaning you'll have to provide them with the same info eBay is asking for. [PayPal currently is processing payments only for smaller platforms... and BTW, has raised its rates just recently.]
Good luck to you ... wherever you decide to do business.

I don't know of ANY other platforms for selling used or new stuff, asking for bank information. NONE! Paypal raised it's rates, and is also WAY TOO HIGH in fee's, I'm not defending Paypal who has been in bed with ebay for years. BUT, they are cheaper than what eBay is now trying to charge.
PS-Thanks for the tip on removing my last few listings.... they are deleted! 😉
