Final value fees

Why is sales tax factored into final value fees? This seems unfair, unethical, and frankly possibly illegal? A seller benefits nothing from collecting taxes, so why are we docked for it?

Which law, specifically, do you think is being broken?

If you think the terms of your agreement with eBay are unfair or unethical, why would you agree to them?

eBay's fees are not punishment; eBay needs to collect a certain amount of money to operate and to pay employees and shareholders. eBay has chosen to do that by implementing a fee paid by sellers out of the total amount the buyer pays, including shipping and taxes.

Payment processors at physical stores also require the same thing.. Nothing new. It is solely placed on the amount the buyer pays.
