Fee discrepancy between stated amount on order summary, and CSV payout file.

I'm trying to reconcile our first payout with the transactions CSV file for the appropriate dates. I'm 80 cents off,  and after signifacant research, found that the fee amount stated on one order summary is -2.71, but the same fee is stated on the payout CSV transaction report as -2.31, hence the .80 difference.

I'm not worried about the money, but this payout was for only 2 orders. When we get to dozens of orders per payout period, it will be a whole lot harder and time consuming to determine discrepancies. Is this a normal occurance? Should I report it somewhere to be sure it isn't an internal Ebay problem? How do I find a real person to help?

Guidance and advice from seasoned sellers is greatly appreciated. Thank you, in advance.

"Update: I spoke with Ebay support (which was surprisingly easy) and discovered the listing fee per item is .40 each, which was the difference in my reconciliation. Now, I udersand clearly. I will say, the column on the CSV report could be labeled more efficiently. If anyone else has the same the problem, the column labeled "Final Value Fee - variable", is the percentage per category, and the column labeled "Final Value Fee - fixed", is the insertion or listing fee per item."

If that's what an actual eBay employee told you, that person is badly misinformed.

eBay allows all sellers to list 250 items per month with no insertion fee per item, i.e., no listing fee per item.
Thus, your insertion/listing fee is $0.00.

In fact, eBay's Final Value Fees (FVFs) do have two parts:  one is variable (a percentage) and the other is fixed

Here's what eBay's User Agreement says about the Final Value Fees (FVFs) that eBay charges, with some bold and color added by me:

(Beginning of Quote)

Final value fees

We charge one final value fee when your item sells, and you don't have to worry about third-party payment processing fees.
This fee is calculated as a percentage of the total amount of the sale, plus a per order fee.
For orders $10.00 or less the per order fee is $0.30, for orders over $10.00 the per order fee is $0.40.

The total amount of the sale includes the item price, any handling charges, any shipping costs collected from the buyer (some exceptions apply), sales tax , and any other applicable fees.

An order is defined as any number of items purchased by the same buyer at checkout with the same shipping method.

When consdensing the file data to fit on a page, the very long heading will be lost on your paper. Hopefully, this info will save at least one person some time and energy.   : )

Thank you for your clarification! Honestly, I may have gotten the terminology wrong, but your explanation is very clear and appreciated.
