Faulty Item That Needs Fixed or Replaced

I purchased a Aqua One 11182 Aquis 700 Canister Filter 700L/H from essentials_petsupples 2015 on 31 Augusts, 2020. The Open/Close cap on top of the canister was faulty because when I opened it as per the instructions, it broke and now the canister leaks all over the floor. I attempted to contact the seller, but kept receiving the reply: ! "Oops! Something went wrong. Please try again later." The contact automated centre was also unable to help me, presuming the seller would be available for contact...What do I do from here?

Go to the bottom of any eBay page and click on the resolution Center. Open a case.

You had 30 days from the date of delivery to open a case with eBay. EBay's Money-Back Guarantee is not a warranty, it's a guarantee that the item will work when you receive it. Contact the manufacturer to see if the item is covered by their warranty.

Why are you telling the OP to do this when their eBay coverage expired over 8 months ago?
