Ebay messages are not recording communications between myself and the buyer, what now?

Hello, as a general rule I take screenshots as my primary source of records of everything that might arise and what I see that might be necessary for future reference.

 

Apparently my screenshots are the only records that I and the buyer have had any discussion because there's nothing in the MESSAGES section of ebay.

 

I've sent about half a dozen responses to the buyer already;  I have received no response from the buyer and am wondering if ebay even sends my messages even though there's a location to contact the buyer located directly below the CONTINUE button of the  https://www.ebay.com/rtn/Return/ReturnsDetail?returnId page

(*if you press the continue button you are agreeing to loss regardless of which of the two offerings are opted to the seller, so I opted for the button under the Continue to "Message the Buyer").

 

If the system faciliates one way or another what recourse is there here?   The reason this is important to me is due to the fact that the seller has initiated a return on a listing that offers no such refund or return but more importantly than that, the buyer has already stated that his system recognized and properly identified the usb hub (which means his problem is not my hub otherwise his system would either not recognize and see the card at all, or under defective circumstances will freeze the entire laptop forcing a hard shutdown).   I don't mind helping the seller solve his issue even to my loss but it seems that ebay doesn't really promote this as an option on any of the screens and helpfiles and frequently asked questions and oh my god why can't we talk to a human already?
