I wanted to share my experience on selling a brand new IPHONE 15 PRO MAX PLUS with receipt, which EBAY has a copy of. The buyer used the phone for 33 days, sat on it (which apple does not recommend on the 15) and broke the screen. 33 days later he tries to bargain with me attempting to shake me down for money. I told him he used the phone for 33 days and I was not giving him any money. EBAY goes and refunds him and never returns my IPHONE 15 PRO 1 TB. Its been over 2 months and the buyer never once after being refunded emailed me to return the phone. I called the police in VA. I'm so stupid that the police had to tell me , if the guy was honest, he would have reached out to you to return the phone, the police had to tell me this... SO once I was told the buyer was refunded in full and allowed to keep the brand new phone which was under a full 1 year warranty with apple. I called Apple and the VA police and reported the phone stolen IME number and serial number. Now here's were it gets really good.
Apple told me that as soon as someone tries to activate the phone they will be arrested on a felony charge of receiving stolen FCC controlled device as the value of the phone was shown on the receipt was $1677.00. Now I'm being told that a women was arrested for trying to activate the phone and her 2 minor toddlers were put in DSS custody when she was arrested for receiving STOLEN PROPERTY. Phones are like guns, they're all registered and because the FCC ,a government agency, controls such devices, she was charged with a felony. I know you all in this community LOVE EBAY as I did, but when I called the state house in MASS. I was informed that the prior management staff were all in federal prison for 15 years for sending body parts and blood to customers of EBAY through the US mail who complained like me. I complained a lot. I do not feel safe on this platform any longer.
I'm glad she lost her children only because it will infuriate her to TAKE ACTION. I'm glad she was arrested because of EBAY. I use to LOVE EBAY but they have lost their way it seems, its really to bad. I spend $30K a year on EBAY, and use to sell much more, now they have lost me for ever because they stole money from me, on top of allowing a scammer to steal my phone. It clearly stated on my Item sold as is, NO RETURNS, 1 year Full APPLE warranty. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot. I went on Instagram and warned my 102,000 followers. Never sell an I PHONE on EBAY and state you do not accept returns, because there are sellers of new IPHONEs that offer 30 day Hassel free returns, but he chose to buy mine because he knew I would not accept a return. Thats the scammers target.
It just happened to a friend of mine also, the same scam. I would imagine that's why EBAY lost $19 Billion dollars last quarter, on top of who the heck would sell anything on a platform were someone can use the product for 33 days, then file a return.
I truly hope this young lady sues EBAY as EBAY allowed this to happen by sneaking in this buyer protection plan. Well now the sellers are running for the hills. I have tried over 100 times to reason with EBAY, but know one speaks English and they constantly tell me they will fix the problem which has never happened. I can only hope that this woman while in jail gets hurt so the damages that EBAY would have to pay would me maximized by a court of law. The police in MASS said I did the right thing, as they are tired of dealing with EBAY problems and consumers who call the police regarding stolen merchandise which ends up on EBAY. The states Attorney's office in MASS told me to notify them at once if anything like animal body parts etc. are sent to my home. I also filed a complaint with the FCC, State house, Attorney General Kim Driscoll, and other federal agencies that govern communication devices in the United States of America.... EBAY has broken 26 promises in 5 weeks to have someone call me from America who speaks English, this never happened.
I waited an entire month before filing complaints against EBAY who never called me back once....
I'm going to miss EBAY, but they may miss me as the average price of an item that I use to sell on EBAY is $2000.00 and up. Ham Radios, Nikon Cameras ($6K) they're going to loose a great customer who has a perfect record on the platform. ESTY, CRAIGS LIST, now that every police station has green zones where people can do their transactions right at the police station is WONDERFUL!! I also had to retain an attorney regarding the woman's arrest and loss of her children for the phone in case her attorney includes myself in her lawsuit for eBay allowing the original buyer to keep my phone that was under a 1 year apple warranty, and I'm still paying for.
I sold 4 radios this week and paid ZERO commission on Craig's list.....$3300.00 free no commission!!!!
Bet you this complaint will be a best seller. Imagine losing children for 2 days until you make bail while arrested. WOW...
In my eyes EBAY just don't care or they would not have lost $19 Billion and 7 of the CEO's and management team are in Federal prison for 15 years!! Can you imagine! Do not sell IPHONES on EBAY you may get scammed like I did.
