Do you get a second chance of return the item if you didn't return it the first time when it was due

If you did not return the item after printing the return label, ebay will close the case after a period of time.  You don't get a second chance to return the item.  If you go to the Returns Request, what does the status show?  Depending on how long ago you should have returned the item, you still might be able to do that now.  Make sure the clerk at the post office scans the label.
