I have a buy-it-now listing for an item of which I have 9 to sell. I am looking to price shipping at the actual cost so I am using "user pays actual shipping." The items are relatively small and light so if a user buys two at the same time, the shipping cost will not likely be affected. However, if they buy several, it may cost more to ship. I have seen other sellers show the marginal cost for each additional item in the shipping details, but I can't see how to do that. I would be willing to add a small delta per item for shipping (e.g., 25 cents). Of course, eBay wouldn't know I did that unless it scanned my listing and somehow (AI?) understood it -- I doubt that it does. So what eBay tells the buyer for shipping would not square with what I am saying in the listing.
My questions are:
1. What will eBay's shipping calculator do if the user asks for multiple items (same sale)? Will it use the the shipping amount for one item, that cost times the number of items, or something else?
2. How can I control how eBay computes the cost reported to the buyer of multiple items?
Thanks
