I am returning an item to the seller but when I processed the claim, I chose "defective" since there was not a choice for the real reason. The seller is willing to refund but asked that I change the reason to "changed mind" , which I am willing to do. How do I do that? I cannot cancel the refund and I don't want the seller to get penalized on her ratings and I can't contact Ebay for assistance until 3 days from now. Thanks!

You can not change the reason for return, and you can not open a new return if you cancel the one that you opened.
If you did not see changed mind as a reason, the item was probably sold with no returns. If sold with no returns, the only type of return you can open is a not as described.
