Cancel an order

I have had some items on ebay for a while now. I have not received any offers so I gave the items away not using ebay.  I had not taken them off ebay and I got an offer today. I declined the offer but then later in the day I received an email from ebay that the items were actually sold for a higher price but I did not approve the sale. I'll admit I'm new to ebay. I don't have the merchandise and have been trying to contact the buyer (using ebay) to let them know that the items are no longer available but have had no luck contacting them. How can I resolve this?  Can they cancel the order? Any help I would appreciate.

You need to cancel the transaction, which will refund the buyer.

1. Go to Orders in Seller Hub or in My eBay.
2. Find the order you want to cancel, and from More actions, select Cancel order.
3. Choose a reason for the cancellation and then select Submit to finish.

Always remove Ebay listings when you no longer have the item.
