Can't delete some recent search terms

When I click the search bar, ebay shows recent search terms I've used.  I click the 'X' to delete them, but I've found a glitch on the ebay site.  I cannot delete recent search terms that have a forward slash, such as: 1/12 scale accessories

As a result, those searches always show up.    I can search for new things and the searches with a slash will show up under new search terms, but I can't get to any older searches because the searches with slashes fill up the slots.

How do I just delete my entire search history?

Problem occurs on all browsers and with all browser history and cookies flushed.  It's an issue with the ebay site.

You can delete your eBay search history by going to your Recently Viewed page and using the "clear all" link in the upper right corner.

https://www.ebay.com/mye/myebay/rvi

You can also use your browser's form data to see all your search terms used on eBay by going to the Advanced Search page and clicking on the search bar there under "Find item". Type a letter in the field to see a drop down of all your searches that begin with that letter.

Neither suggestion helps.  Clearing Recently Viewed items on that page only removes recently viewed items, but has no effect on the search terms that appear when I click on the search bar.

The second suggestion doesn't work at all because I use private browsing mode on my browsers, so my browser doesn't save any form data or login info.  So, nothing is suggested when I type in the search bar there.

I want to remove my search history so that when I click on the search bar, ebay doesn't show anything.  Or, I want them to fix the glitch so I can manually delete items that have a forward slash.

You may be better off finding a new way to keep track of your searches, rather than relying on eBay's search suggestions.

Bookmarking search results directly may be one option.

Using Saved Search and Saved Sellers might be a possibility.

Ordinarily, using the Advanced Search page is a good way to keep track of saved form data, but if you are using a private or incognito browser window, that will not work for you.

Previously, using the "Clear all" button on the Recently Viewed page cleared the search suggestions as well, but eBay recently updated the search suggestion feature, and I think that it no longer does that.
