I just don't understand why Ebay would letter a buyer enter information that is too long and then the burden to resolve this is on the seller!
I have a buyer that purchased something however their name is too long. I ran it through Microsoft Word to get a letter count with spaces and am coming to 50 characters. We are only allowed to enter 40. I can eliminate 4 however if we significantly eliminate stuff we are not covered by Ebay guarantee! I have messaged the buyer but again, why can it be entered on the one end and the burden be on the sellers end?

That's a problem that definitely should be solved, and shouldn't be too difficult to solve, but for now, you can either try to modify that line (sometimes you can drop part of it down to the next line), or you can cancel the order using "Problem with buyer's address" and you will not be penalized. I'm sorry you're dealing with that, but fortunately I don't find that to be a very common issue.
