Buyer's address is similar to: Joe Buyer, 123 Main Street, PO Box 888, Anytown, USA.
I'm shipping UPS (only option in listing)
eBay will only allow a label to be purchased for USPS because of the 'PO Box 888' line.
123 Main Street is a verified physical address
Can I edit the ship to address to remove the PO Box line? or will that void my seller protection?
How can I get this done without voiding my protections?

Some buyers do this so you can choose which to use. As long as the street address is not a post office or private mail box location, you can delete the PO box and use the street address.

Thanks. Google maps shows it as a private residence (very rural). eBay chat representative says (erroneously?) that if I edit the address to remove the PO Box, it will void my seller protection. I messaged the buyer 20 minutes after he placed the order, but he hasn't responded in 16 hours, and I need to get it out today.

As long as it is delivered to the street address on the payment, you are protected. Does ups deliver there?
Often extremely rural areas do not have home delivery of mail and they must go to the PO box to get all of their mail. That should not affect ups, but might indicate an issue with ups, too.
If you can wait for a response from the buyer, I would wait a day or 2. You can always cancel as problem with buyer's address if you are not comfortable removing the PO box, or alternately, shipping by usps.
