Buyer requests to delay sending shipment

I have an item which will be sent Global Shipping Program.

The buyer specifically emailed us requesting  We hold it for 2 weeks, so it arrives when he returns from vacation !

How do I do this without Ebayit  giving me a Bad Mark, for not shipping on time !

OR perhaps even screwing up the Global Shipping Program ?

Re: Buyer requests to delay sending shipment

I would go ahead and ship to Erlanger, KY.  Once the item gets there, there will be a delay in getting the item repackaged (as they often do) and the customs form printed, and then a delay in customs once the package arrives to the buyer's country.

Re: Buyer requests to delay sending shipment

So basically ignore my customers request !

Cross my fingers & hope for bad service ?

Perhaps I should put under my pillow, & hope the tooth fairy will take care of it ?

I get notices from other Global Shipping Program shipment & I very much doubt it will take 2 1/2 weeks to UK.

I wasn't going to delay for very long, but definitely longer than the Ebay "Ship by date" which I NEVER DO....

Re: Buyer requests to delay sending shipment

@dsdsign,

If the customer sent the request before buying the item. Why not end the listing and relist it for them on the day after their return date. You could relist it as a Private Listing for [username here] and fudge the title a little.

If they have already paid for the item,

You could ask them to request cancelling the transaction, and that once they do.  you will cancel but relist it on the day after their return date. Then refund them.

You could also delay shipping, and if you pick up a defect for it, contact ebay through their Facebook or Twitter pages (links below) When you write your message give your item number username and real one and contact info, like your ebay email address.  State, you delayed shipping the item per the customer's request, and post a screen shot of the message, and ask the rep to check your messages.  They should be able to remove the defect.

Re: Buyer requests to delay sending shipment

Thanks+  for the very good quote, I'll use it myself.
He already purchased & paid & then contacted me.
I don't use Facebook or Twitter, BTW the links were either censored or you forgot to include.

But point is !
I want to avoid even getting a defect in first place, which BTW Ebay doesn't always tell you about, you just an Ebay internal "bad mark" which counts against you record...

There is NO WAY to avoid the defect if you delay shipping.

Re: Buyer requests to delay sending shipment

So totally disregard customer's request, & have (btw it's a paper product) item lay on customers  porch to get rained on or taken ?  (& get bad feedback?)

OR gamble with  " The Wrath of Ebay"  ?

Who ever said life is fair ?
